On our trip to Utah I meet up with my friend Ryan Whitney on the Provo river for some dawn patrol fly fishing. The air was 35 degrees and the water was around 50ish. Ryan taught me how to fly fish when I was going to the University of Utah.
He has a way of reading the river and knowing where the fish will be that is almost supernatural. It was the brown spawning time and they where not hungry so he was using an fly that looked like a small fish to get them to bite.
I had to get home we weren’t on the river that long but is sure was great. IT was my fault that he got skunked that day but on average he catches 3-6 fish a day.
